Instructions to access the forum |
Some people have reported problems accessing the forum. So below are screen prints of the process to create a profile/login to access the forum. There are 9 pictures; the first 7 are for creating a new profile in Yuku (who host the forum) and the last 2 are to upgrade an old ezboard profile to a Yuku one to enable access to the forum. There are 2 online entities for the NSA 1) The website www.sprinting.org.uk (also accessed via www.nationalsprintassociation.com and other web identities) which is the OFFICIAL NSA online entity. This is visible to anyone using the web who clicks a link or types the web address. Search engines will find the site and provide links to it. 2) The forum which is an UNOFFICIAL NSA online entity, created by NSA members to share knowledge, chat and to communicate. This web location is semi private (requiring "credentials" to access it). Please note that the forum is not an official NSA site; it is one supported by the forum members who are NSA members, supporters or interested others. The previous foum was hosted by ezboard that some feel was easier to use. Yuku took over ezboard and we had no choice in the package other than to host elsewhere. I could have created a forum as part of our website package, but we would have lost the hundreds of threads and contributions as there was now way to export from ezboard/yuku. I have tried to reduce the steps to access the forum to keep it simple. We used to have an approval system that required the administrator to approve an application for membership of the forum - this was to reduce spamming (in theory). I dropped this process as I work away from home a lot, which could mean folks having to wait a while to access the forum. There are a few fundamentals involved with using the forum 1) To access it, you must create a profile 2) To access it, you must login |

If having to login is irritating for you, enable your browser to remember the login and password! You should only need to login at the start of your session rather than at each post.
Some worry about other Yuku users seeing your personal information. Apart from the login profile sign up there is no need to provide personal information and the only part that needs to be genuine is the email address.

| If you have problems accessing the forum or indeed the website, please contact me via email or telephone (committee members have my phone numbers). Hopefully these instructions will help those with login problems get access to the forum. Perhaps it will also mean that there will be no more snipes/whinges in The Sprinter about the management of online resources. Before going "nuclear" - give me a ring and I will see if I can sort things out for you. There are 170 people who have no problems with accessing the forum, and 3 with problems. Email me with exact descriptions of the problems you are having and I will see what I can do. The email address is below. | ||
